Church of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga
The project reflects the idea of the temple city in the likeness of the image of Heavenly Jerusalem. The spatial composition is based on a cube with sides 12×12×12 meters. The very shape of the temple is based on a drawing of the 17th-century Trinity Cathedral in Pskov.
The temple is designed for urban development, which is why it does not have extra space for the parish. Therefore, all the necessary services for parish life are combined in one volume. The church itself is designed to accommodate 300 parishioners. There is a gallery for panikhidas and confessions on the south side and then the baptismal chapel for 100 people. There is also a space for water blessing molebens with the outlet of holy water on the street. A bell tower with a passage to the choir loft is adjacent to the church. The parish house with the Sunday School and facilities in the basement adjoins the church from the north. Also, the basement space is equipped for underground parking.
