EXHIBITION-GUIDE TO THE HISTORY OF ONE OF THE MAIN HOLY RELICS OF MINSK - THE KRUPCY ICON OF THE MOTHER OF GOD AND THE PROTECTION TEMPLE

The project is a detailed guide to the history of one of the main holy relics of Minsk. This is the Krupcy Icon of the Mother of God and the Protection Church, built on the site where it first appeared. The significance of this place is revealed in the context of the history of Orthodoxy in Belarus, which largely determined the culture and image of the Belarusian capital. The mission of the project is to reflect the ecclesial topography of Minsk. It aspires to revive the memory of key milestones in the history of Orthodox Belarus and lost church relics.

The project covers the historical period from the 10th to the 21st centuries. Each stand reflects the main periods, significant locations and events in the development of the Orthodox tradition in Belarus and the city of Minsk. Moving from stand to stand, one can trace the fate of the city’s central churches. Some of them were destroyed and remained only in old photos or in the memories of eyewitnesses. Others have survived to this day, and it is all the more interesting to get to know their past.

The exhibition is located on the territory of the Protection of the Mother of God Church in Minsk (Pobediteley Ave., 82)
