The project for the reconstruction of the church and adjacent premises of the Minsk Theological Academy

The following is the project for the reconstruction of the church and adjacent premises of the Minsk Theological Academy. It is designed with a focus on the existing interior. The elements are reworked in the neo-Byzantine style, taking into account liturgical features.
The project envisages the following operations:
  • dismantling of metal fences;
  • unification of the sexton's room and sacristy into one large sacristy;
  • transfer of the sacristy to the premises of the former bathroom, with the dismantling of all plumbing fixtures;
  • transfer of pipes and their reconstruction;
  • laying of some openings and the construction of new parts of the walls.
The installation and dismantling scheme is shown below.
The church space has to accommodate two choirs - the main larger one and a smaller one for the brotherhood. The wall-mounted case with the icon of Our Lady of Barkalabava is to be transferred. A new triple icon-case is to be put in its place. For the installation of the brotherhood choir, one floor icon-case is to be transferred too.

The project suggests the placement of a new wardrobe in the narthex. Calvary with new candlesticks is located by the central support pillar. The project of a new tank for the distribution of holy water is designed. It is connected to the filtration system through the wall. In the premises of the new sacristy the wardrobes for vestments are designed. New furniture is also designed for the sexton's room, as well as the locker for the censer. A new central analogion and a table for Lity service have been designed for the church. Built-in seats are designed for the sanctuary.

The design of the tank for holy water makes it possible to remove the lid from above and sanctify the water. On the side, the shelf with the door is attached. There is also a door in the lower part of the tank itself. It is suitable for connecting a manifold for distributing water on the feast of Epiphany.

The candlesticks to the right and to the left of the Calvary are wood-carved. They are topped with a stone slab and a brass panel for candles, and inlaid with text in brass. At their bottom there is a place for baskets for offerings. The table for Lity service and the central analogion are also wood-carved. On the reverse side of the analogion there are doors for storing lamp oil and napkins.
Both choirs are stationary structures with wooden steps for singers. They are enclosed with carved stone structures with metal inserts. The choirs also have carved music stands with built-in sockets for lamps. The height and inclination of the music stand of the main choir can be changed. The brotherhood choir has a bookcase. A wall-mounted icon case for three icons is to be on the wall near the main choir.
The locker for the censer in the sexton's room is supposed to be made of metal with brass decoration and moldings of carved stone or composite material. There should also be wooden inserts on the lower doors, below the pull-out shelf.

The seats in the sanctuary are built-in, they have carved decorations. Above there are shelves for liturgical books and kamilavkas (clerical headdress).
The project suggests the placement of all existing wall icons and reliquaries on the walls, as well as candlesticks.
The sheets of the album are technical specifications for manufacturers of furniture and all interior decoration items.
