Talashkino

We visited Talashkino village, an important center of Russian artistic life in the late 19th - early 20th century.

Here the educational and art-industrial workshops were organized. These were the workshops for carving, enameling, embroidery and pottery led by Sergey Malyutin[1]. Many artists visited Talashkino and worked there. Among them there were painters Sergey Malyutin, Mikhail Vrubel, Nicholas Roerich, Albert Benois, Mikhail Nesterov, Konstantin Korovin and Ilya Repin. There were also sculptor Pavel Troubetzkoy, composers Vasily Andreyev, Igor Stravinsky and others.
