Ампулы из римских катакомб. Копия из стекла (II-IV)
Жители Римской империи пользовались стеклянными сосудами, так называемыми ампулами, с древнейших времен. Стекло изготавливалось в восточных частях
империи — Сирии и Египте. Христиане в таких сосудах хранили воду из освященных
источников. В христианских катакомбах также найдены стеклянные сосуды, вмурованные в надгробные плиты. На дне таких ампул виден осадок темного цвета — вероятнее всего, это кровь.
